Hand-carved from a wooden sphere and cylinder, I painted this piece with food in mind.  Eventually it wandered into a more abstract territory with the head and became a supernatural ice cream cone.

From my comic Joan's Fish Frenzy! , I created a mini blind box figure of the loveable Dancer, ready to do serious business.  I 3D modeled him, printed him in resin, and finally hand painted in a graphic style.

An adorable candle with legs, this little guy was 3D modeled and printed in clear resin to produce his iconic flame.

Standing 8 inches tall, Sad Lumps is a loveable platform toy meant for customization. He was 3D modeled and FDM printed, allowing for a more lightweight design.

Sussie Plush Design

Sussie_FullBody_edited.jpg
Sussie_3quarter_edited.jpg

Based on the character from the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters, I designed Sussie into a felt plush by drawing out initial patterns and sewing various maquettes.  Through trial and error, I was able to find the best dart placements and shapes to achieve a three-dimensional object.

Robert the Long-Necked Pigeon

Robert: a long-necked pigeon born from the radioactive trenches of New York City.  He is both awkwardly long, yet equally loveable with his matching fez.

I based my long-necked pigeon design on my Sussie bird pattern, adjusting the body and head by elongating and shortening the Sussie pattern.  I wanted to have a sense of whimsy to the plush, which is why I gave Robert a long neck and fez.

Robert has been given two color variations, the first based on real life pigeons and the second with a lavender twist.  Both are meant to highlight the beautiful jewel tones of pigeons.

I created my own version of a Magic Spoon box design inspired by traditional Korean folklore and modernized fashion.

Color Compositions

Blue seemed like the best choice for the flavor blueberry muffin.  I added gold accents to the blue color composition for the 'muffin' aspect and break from the monochromatic theme.

Surface Design: Repeating Patterns

NOWSAV_202540_ILLU225_BeatriceLin_E5_pat

Software: Adobe Illustrator

I designed two repeating patterns with 8-9 assets.  These were inspired by mortality, featuring ocean life and the band Ghost.  The designs combine simplistic and cutesy imagery with darker undertones.
